If you live in Portland, or are planning a visit, this is a must see. The gardens are serene, gorgeous, and can be toured in about an hour. longer if you are lugging photo gear.

I spent my Saturday a couple weeks ago at the Beaverton Farmer’s Market. Farmer’s markets in Portland have become quite the cottage industry, and you can find one in just about any part of town on any given Saturday and many weeknights. 10.  West Coast Cool - Portland gets good bands, has some great local bands (affordable, small venues to boot!) and the occasional movie shoot, and you can wear shorts & flip flops pretty much anywhere, without the So. Cal ego, and most of the time it’s only a 2 hour flight to L.A. for about the same cost [...]
