Is Portland Real Estate About to Turn a Corner?

  • The Average Sale Price was up by 4.0% form the previous week, and Up 5.5% vs Last Year's number.  Our overarching trend of prices averaging a bit higher than last year seems to still be holding - up 1.6% over the past 30 days.

  • The number for New Purchase Agreements was Up Another 5% this week.  For maybe only the 3rd time this year (and in 2 of the past 3 weeks), buyer demand has been higher (Up 13%) over last year's number.  This could be an inflection point in our market.  A couple more weeks should tell.

  • Mortgage Rates Held at 6.125% (best case scenario) for the 30-year fixed this week.  So, no real changes since they dropped significantly last week and no good indicators this week of where they're headed.
